“Love Architecture for everything fantastic, adventurous and solemn that it has created… Love it for the immense, glorious, age-old human endeavour that it bears witness to with its cathedrals, palaces and cities, its houses, and its ruins.”

Architettura LOVERS Competition
The ArchitetturaLOVERS award was created to collect and classify the contributions of architects around the world who have worked with interventions aimed at caring for the city, which have been able to trigger a regenerative urban development process in social, economic, environmental and cultural terms. The aim is to build a database of recent interventions that have been able to give a second life to parts of the city.
It is open to interventions carried out by architects and engineers, individually or in groups, from 01/01/2017 to 30/06/2022, which have regenerated degraded places through specific actions on buildings and/or the urban landscape. They can be new construction or intervention on the existing but also mixed, with the new alongside the old. The levers that enabled the development and the results obtained in terms of improved quality of place, economy, sociality, sustainability or inclusion should be highlighted.

Architecture that becomes BERGAMO BRESCIA Capital of Culture
LOVE ARCHITECTURE is a project aimed at Inheriting, Knowing and Protecting the cities and surroundings of Bergamo and Brescia, i.e. an opportunity to put local residents back at the centre and to make them more aware of the local identity, thus ensuring that our heritage can be passed on to future generations while building a present of renewed quality, sustainability and beauty. It therefore also means embracing the recent past and assigning it value, understanding the transformations taking place and imagining the cities and landscapes of tomorrow. BGBS Capital of Culture is an opportunity to launch a research and development project for the two urban centres, imagining the potential for a single metropolitan area, starting from the respective symbolic places of Città Alta (Upper Bergamo) and the Castle, looking to the future.
